004: What's On Stoke & Staffordshire
The Snuts (Glastonbury Warm Up Show), GIANT WHEEL Parade, Buzzing at the Theatre, Secret Coffee Shop in Staffordshire Moorlands.
WHAT’S ON/THINGS TO DO ✅
The Snuts, Millennials Tour. 27th June, The Sugarmill. On their way down to Glastonbury to play on The Other Stage after Annie Mac, The Snuts are stopping in Stoke to play at The Sugarmill. A nice coup for Sugarmill and a great chance to see a fairly intimate The Snuts gig compared to the crowd they’ll likely draw in at Glastonbury. Listen to The Snuts on Spotify.
Parade; The Giant Wheel. 22nd June, 12.30 & 2.30, Newcastle Town Centre. Six street artists dance and clamber across this giant wheel to move it across town. It’s a celebration of challenge, struggle, beauty and the power of people. There’s also free workshops for you to get involved in too that are open to everyone. Follow this link for details about the parade, the “community cast” workshops and watch this video to get an idea of the performance, it really is very impressive and…moving.
Buzzing. 22nd June, Bolton Gate Arts. Touring since the Edinburgh Fringe 2019, this is a one-woman show where Julie (Debbie Bird) explores herself and her sexuality as a 50 year old divorcee. The inner lives of older women still remain a bit of a hush-hush topic and this play, which almost verges on a stand-up routine at times, blows the doors wide open on many of those taboo topics such as menopause. Probably not one for the whole family. This important message is told creatively and has been well received by audiences and reviewers.

🔗 Hygge Coffee Shop in Tean
📌 Location
One afternoon I fancied heading towards the Moorlands. I had two things in my head, I wanted to grab a good speciality coffee and I wanted to basically be in Ancoats, Manchester. So when I found an old mill turned into an apartment building with a coffee shop opposite I hit jackpot. The tiny village of Tean has limited provisions, but the Hygge coffee shop is worth shouting about. Next time you’d like a good coffee, a walk in the country and probably see a part of Staffordshire you’ve barely been to, I’d definitely check out Hygge in Tean. They do some ace coffees and teas, oatcakes, as well as offering alternative milks for picky coffee lovers.

Bit confused about the Hygge Coffee Shop post.
If you wanted to be in Ancoats, why were you at Tean?
It's nothing like Ancoats.
