• Pretty Woman The Musical. Monday 15th July - Friday 20th July, Regent Theatre. The much-loved film with Julia Roberts and Richard Gere has been turned into a musical and sold out shows across the West End. It’s now coming to Stoke.

• ART JAM. 27th July, 10 am - 4 pm, The Old Bus Station, Birch Terrace & Old Hall Street Hanley. Stoke-on-Trent BID and Stoke Council have teamed up with Rob Fenton and a network of mural artists to transform boring looking hoarding in Hanley. The result is Art Jam. Top graffitti artists from the surrounding regions, come together to do their thing, there’s food, DJs and we all get to watch them in action for free.

• DEEPER MINDS. 27th July, 4pm - 12pm, Spode Courtyard. A group of DJs have come together to stoke the fires of the rave scene. “Delivering the finest in past and present underground electronic music to the ears of like-minded dancers and enthusiasts” is their mission. It’s all served up to the backdrop of industrial heritage sites, this time Spode. Part of the new collective are Froot, who produced an online radio station until Summer last year. For a flavour of their flavours, have a listen.

• LITTLE DUMPLING KING TURNS 2! 26th and 27th July, Piccadilly. One of the cluster of independents that keeps the fire of Hanley burning, purveyor of baos, oysters and natural wines makes it to their second birthday. No mean feet given conditions for hospitality. There will be discounts, cheap drinks and extra sad emo music.

p.s why not make a day of it? Art Jam in the morning, grab some food at LDK and head to Deeper Minds. Hanley isn’t dead, you just haven’t been for ages.
