Contemporary artists from Staffordshire, Shropshire and Cheshire are exhibiting their work in the historic Burslem School of Art. The beautiful venue was set up to educate future generations of designers and artists in the pottery industry; notable students include Clarice Cliff, Susie Cooper and Enos Lovatt. Now the venue is home to more future talent across the three counties. There’s a wide range of artistic styles from painting to sculpture, moving image and installations. Free to attend, open 11am - 3pm Tuesday to Saturday.
Guided Walks in the Peak District, Multiple August Dates, Peak District. National Park Rangers are volunteer guides who take people out to explore our national parks and there are plenty of guided walks to enjoy across the Peak District. Covering varying distances and difficulties, from 5 miles to 10 miles and taking in all the different scenery with some challenging climbs - there are currently 6 different routes to take on. No need to worry about getting lost, or where to park, or what that big thing is in the distance over there - your guide takes care of all of that. £10 for adults and under 18s go free, multiple dates across August.
Luminarium - Architects of Air, 14/08 - 16/08, Hanley Park. An interactive, inflatable labyrinth of light and sound pops up in Hanley Park to kick off The Big Feast festival. Luminarium is a giant inflatable maze that immerses visitors into an evocative atmosphere of light and sound.
