Now in its 10th year, this free outdoor event sees art and artists pop up in streets and buildings all over Hanley, including The Potteries Centre, Piccadilly and Old Town Hall. Acts performing across the weekend include outdoor circus show Everywhere’s a Beach and family-friendly comedy show Out of the Box. Want to get involved? Castle Food & Drink Fest, 24/08, 11am, Iron Market, Newcastle. Designed to celebrate the town’s growing food and drink scene, there will be global street food vendors, live music, and free kids craft workshops at the first Castle Food and Drink Fest. There are also food and drink demos for those that love to sample and an oatcake eating competition - scoff as many as you can in 60 seconds to win a year’s supply! This Sunday (18/08), there’s the Castle Artisan Market on the high street for bakers, makers, local art, street food and more from 10am-3pm.
MARA Run Club Stoke Launch, 23/08, 6.30pm, Northwood Stadium. Whether you’re a seasoned runner or just want to get fit, MARA Run Club don’t care who runs the furthest or the fastest. Their first Stoke Club run is a 5k that begins at Northwood Stadium and they’ll be running every Wednesday from 23/08 down the canal, along the track or sometimes into town: expect more 5k and 10k options in the future. Listen to the MARA podcast, join their Strava Club and check out the full MARA Run Club schedule here to get inspired.
Future Fest 2024, 31 August, 10am til late, World of Wedgwood. Soak up summer tunes from DJ Ben, listen to Caribbean steel drum performances and enrol on a Kintsugi craft workshop, which celebrates imperfections by repairing broken pottery with gold, at Wedgwood’s biggest event of the year. Food and drink options include wood-fired pizza from La Piccola Pizzeria, artisan ice cream from Doultons Dairy and fluffy, pillowy bao buns from Beasty Baos.
