🎥 Stoke Film Theatre is Back as it Turns 50! Love indie and foreign films? Then rejoice, as Stoke Film Theatre, which turns 50 this year, will debut a new programme of films this October from its new location at the Wade Centre in Hartshill. To get the ball rolling, it’s showing Lee (12/10 & 17/10, 7.45pm), a true story about US fashion model Lee Miller, who reported from the front lines during World War II with Kate Winslet in the leading role. It’s trying to raise £100,000 to buy a screen, curtains and acoustic walls and needs a little help as it’s only raised £7,000 so far. Why not donate?
🎸Jamie Webster Plays Keele. Keele Uni. 19/11, 7pm-11pm. Scouse singer Jamie Webster has added new dates to his latest tour, one of which includes Keele University. He’ll be promoting his latest album, 24 Hours in A&E, with support from The K’s, The Lottery Winners, Jack Valero and Florentenes. Tickets £35.75.

🩰 A Novel Take On A Classic Fairytale. 29/10, 11am, Mitchell Arts Centre. A stylish, contemporary update on Little Red Riding Hood, Wolf Witch Giant Fairy – The Royal Ballet enjoyed a triumphant Olivier-award winning run in 2021 and the production will swing by Hanley for one night only. Tickets £4 for kids, adults go free.
🕯️ Candlelit Tributes to Contemporary Songs. 26/10 & 30/11, Stoke Minster. Witness Coldplay (6pm) and Adele’s (8.30pm) biggest hits performed by a string quartet presented by Candlelight Concerts (26/10). Next month (30/11), you can catch Hans Zimmer’s Best Works (he’s done scores for The Lion King and Pirates of the Caribbean) at 6pm and Queen getting the quartet treatment at 8.30pm. 👻 Jimmy Carr: Laughs Funny 20/11, 7pm & 9.30pm, Regent Theatre. The comedian renowned for his dark brand of comedy will run through his fast-paced, edgy one-liners. Shows are 90 minutes long with no interval. Tickets from £40.72
🎄Santa Sleepover at Alton Towers. 29/11-24/12, Alton Towers. Families can get in the Christmas spirit with a live show featuring Santa, a Reindeer Games scavenger trail, Jack and the Beanstalk panto and more at the Santa Sleepover. An overnight stay includes an evening meal, buffet breakfast, one-day entry to the theme park, waterpark and nine holes at Extraordinary Golf. From £90 per person per night.
🦇 Bat Out of Hell Returns to Stoke! 30/06-05/07, Regent Theatre. Okay, it’s a while off but this is a show all you rockers out there can get excited about. The award-winning Bat Out Of Hell – The Musical, which sees an eight-piece rock band elevate Meat Loaf’s greatest hits, will return to tour the UK in 2025. Tickets from £15.
