👨🍳 Masterchef Pops up in the Potteries Centre. 23/11, 7pm-10.30pm. Former Masterchef quarter finalist, Chell lad Steve Deakin, and Staffordshire charity Chit Chat 4 U All will pop up and serve up a three-course Indian fusion menu next month. It’s the first in a series of monthly events for local foodies – yum! Tickets £45.
🤣 Split Your Sides Laughing with Adam Rowe. 01/11, 7pm, Potteries Museum & Art Gallery. Catch Liverpudlian funny man Adam Rowe, co-presenter of the global hit 'Have a Word' podcast with Dan Nightingale. Claim to fame? He once won funniest joke at the Edinburgh Fringe. Bar opens at 6pm. Tickets £18.50.
🔥 🧨 Roaring Bonfire and Fireworks Events. Various prices, dates and destinations. Here’s a trio of events to get you started: there’s the Bonfire Night & Fireworks at Stoke Park (03/11); The Ultimate Fireworks Spectacular (05/11-08/11) at Alton Towers and Fireworks Extravaganza, (03/11) at Staffordshire County Showground.
🧑🎨 Mindful Collage Sessions. 12/11, 6.30pm-8.30pm, Silk Mill House. Join an evening of creativity and conversation at the Staffordshire Collage Club evening. All tools and materials are provided. Beginners welcome. Tickets from £22.38.
🏺Ceramic Makers Market at Gladstone. 16/11, 11-4pm, Gladstone Pottery Museum. More than 50 local and national ceramicists will be in attendance, including contestants from The Great Pottery Throw Down Jan Morgan, Shanika Yeomans and Andrew Macbean. Admission free, plus free entry to the museum.
⛪️ Stoke Minster to Host The Longest Yarn. 21/11-05/12; times here. A modern day Bayeux Tapestry bringing to life the D-Day Landings, The Longest Yarn is an 80 metre 3D depiction of 6 June 1944 in wool art that tells the stories of the 80 days to the Liberation of Paris across 80 woollen 3D panels. It was created by more than 1,000 knitters from France, the UK, Europe, US and New Zealand. Admission free, £5 donation suggested, all proceeds to Stoke Minster Charity.
🏮 Winter Light Trail for Trentham. 29/11-31/12, Step into an illuminated light trail throughout Trentham Gardens this winter. The trail is more than a mile long, and will feature interactive displays, soundscapes and large scale illuminations. Plus there’s an après ski lodge bar and chalets, local independent food vendors, a children’s funfair and marshmallow toasting. Tickets from £17.50 (adults) and £13 (children).
🎭 Absurd Person Singular Comes to Stoke. 10-14/12, 7.30pm. Stoke Repertory Theatre. Set on Christmas Eve, Alan Ayckbourn’s 1972 play charts the changing fortunes of three married couples. Expect comedy and calamity in equal measure plus some unexpected twists and turns. Tickets from £11.50, students £11.
