🎸 Passing the Mic to up-and-coming Musicians. 31/08 Foxlowe Arts Centre; 21/09; Keele University, 21/12 & 19/04, King Street Studios, Newcastle. Now in its ninth series, Honey Box Live is touring the Midlands and showcasing hot new talent in front of live audiences with shows live-streamed across the UK. A platform for unsigned acts and creative production talent alike, it captures the energy of original music performances in pop-up studio settings. The event in Newcastle on 21/12 is also part of Amplifying Grassroots Talent, a parallel project offering opportunities for emerging creatives and technicians. More info and ticket links here.


👻 Paranormal Mysteries on Stage. 17/10, 7.30pm, Regent Theatre. Get in the Hallowe’en mood as the host of the award-winning BBC paranormal podcast and TV series, Danny Robins, hosts a new live show, Uncanny: Fear of the Dark, a spine-tingling collection stories that features ghostly apparitions, UFO sightings, and bizarre poltergeist activity among other spooky goings-on. Danny will be joined by experts Dr Ciarán O’Keeffe, an open-minded sceptic, and the UK’s leading parapsychologist, Evelyn Hollow. Tickets from £33.50.
⚽️ Free Multisports with Middleport Matters. 21/08, 10am-4pm. Middleport Park, Kids aged 8-17 years are welcome to join this Multisports Fun Day that’s being held at the charity’s new youth club, The Block. Admission free.
🎶 Lamplight Concerts at Stoke Minster. 26/09, 6.30pm & 7.30pm, Stoke Minster. Featuring a string quartet playing against a lamplit backdrop, there are two shows to enjoy at Stoke Minster this September: Hits from the Movies (6.30pm) and Back to the 70s and 80s (8.30pm). Tickets £10 per performance.

Hot on the heels of last week’s bamboo pop-up in Newcastle comes another on the disused land off Boothen Road, Bamboo In the Brownfield Parklet, where NoFit State Circus will bring you BAMBOO, a high impact, high-skill outdoor circus production using only bamboo and the human body. Admission free.

The Neurodiversity Network Conference 2025 explores how we can better support neurodivergent people over two event days: Neurodiversity in Education (11/09) and Neurodiversity in the Workplace (12/09).
