🌿 Embracing Big Ideas. 12/03, 10am-3pm, King’s Hall. The Staffordshire & Stoke-on-Trent Celebration of the Possible (COP) Festival will bring people together to explore, question and shape what comes next for our region. Delivered in partnership with the Staffordshire Green Network, the event will feature networking in the morning followed by afternoon workshop discussions covering topics from nature to the circular economy. Admission free.
🚬 Quitathon for National No Smoking Day. 11/03. Still smoke, or know someone who does? Stub it out at Staffordshire’s Big Quitathon on National No Smoking Day. The free programme offers personalised support and proven stop-smoking aids to help people quit. Text QUIT to 60777, or call 0333 005 0095 (opening hours Mon-Fri 8.30am-7pm or Sat 10am-2pm). Appointments are available by phone or in person, and support can begin immediately.
🚘 Castle Classics is Back! 28/03, 10am-4pm, Newcastle Town Centre. Feast your eyes on an impressive collection of vintage vehicles pre-2005 at this retro car show, including classic cars, vans, scooters and motorbikes, all competing for prizes. There’s also a live DJ playing hits from the 60s through to the 90s plus tunes from 6 Towns Radio. Admission free, exhibitors £4, stalls £20.
💍 Hear the Music of the Lord of The Rings. 28/03, 6.30pm, Stoke Minster. There are plenty of great concerts coming up at the closest thing we have to a cathedral, including an evening dedicated to Howard Shore’s stunning soundtrack to The Lord of the Rings. The music from the iconic film trilogy will be performed by the Mystery Ensemble orchestra. Tickets from £20.
