🐣 Easter Fun. 14/04-25/05, 11am-4pm, Potteries Centre. There’s a great line-up of activities planned for Easter up Hanley, including a Find the Golden Egg Challenge (16/04-23/04), with 10 golden eggs hidden in shop and cafe windows. Alternatively, hunt for a golden ball on the Golden Egg Trail Hunt (14/04-25/04) or rock up to an Easter Storytelling Show (14 & 15/04, 24 & 25/04). For more details, visit the website.
👨🏻 Catch Boys From the Blackstuff. 10/06-14/06, Regent Theatre. James Graham’s powerful new adaptation of Alan Bleasdale’s BAFTA award-winning TV series about Liverpool under Margaret Thatcher comes on a UK tour direct from the National Theatre and the West End. Tickets from £15.
🐣 Make and Bake Sessions. Various dates and times, Mitchell Arts Centre. Let the kids get creative at these great workshops. Choose from Bunny Cups and Fluffy Sheep Cupcakes (17/04); Easter Cards & Bird’s Nests (24/04); Breadstick Wands and Monster Bookmarks (28/05) and Summer Cup Cakes and Flower Plates (29/05). 🎭 Time for Some Amateur Dramatics. 21/05-24/05, 7.30pm, Endon Village Hall. Support your local drama scene and watch Endon Dramatic Society perform Natural Causes, a comedy by Eric Chappell, where several attempts to do away with various characters in the play result in multiple poisonings of a rubber plant. 🌎 Celebrate Earth Day. 26/04, 10am-3pm, Middleport Pottery. There’s an Easter bonnet parade for the kids, a sustainable fashion show from Dress2myDoor, drop-in sessions by Hoglets plus eco-friendly crafting, storytelling and Port Vale’s loveable mascot, Boomer. Tickets £5.50 (kids aged 4-15), adults £1.50, under 4’s go free.
🎸 Get Ready for Steampunk. 09/05, 8pm-11pm, The Rigger. Under the glow of vintage Edison lightbulbs, Steampunk Orchestra reimagines rock anthems from rock legends including Smashing Pumpkins, Coldplay, Foo Fighters, and more with a bold orchestral twist. Tickets £16.75.
😝 Stoke’s Comedy Festival is Back! 9, 10 & 17/05, 7.30pm, Potteries Museum & Art Gallery. There are some class acts playing at this popular local festival, including Facebook breakout star Mrs Smith See Me, and funny Instagram Dad George Lewis, whose highly relatable brand of comedy has seen him support big names like Romesh Raganathan and Josh Widdicombe on their stand-up tours. Tickets from £16.
🎨 The Palette Project. 03/05, 10am-6pm; 04/05 10am-4pm, Great Bar Gallery. Get down to Tunstall to view The Palette Project: Pink, a vibrant showcase of local artists exploring every shade of pink from soft pastels to vibrant fuschias. Admission free.
