👩🦰 Shop for Ceramics. 21 & 22/03, 11am-4pm, Gladstone Pottery Museum. More than 80 local and national ceramic makers are confirmed to attend the Ceramic Makers’ Market, with past contestants from The Great Pottery Throwdown including Stephen Parkes, Jonathan Jolly and more. Confirmed local artists include Scruffy Little Herbert and Philip Hardaker, while Hull-based studio Leafy Lane Pottery will also be there. Free entry to the museum and market.
🏮 Newcastle Illuminated. 04/03, 6pm-9pm; Newcastle Town Centre. Highlights of the Newcastle Under Light event includes a sound and light pagoda, immersive artworks, a projection that guests can contribute to on The Guildhall, and even a fantastical, huggable fungus. Admission free, drop in anytime.
📚Drop City Books is Reopening! 28/02, 74-78 Picadilly, Hanley. There are now just a couple of weeks to go until the much-loved Drop City Books returns to our city centre. Setting up shop in a much larger space on Piccadilly, bookworms can expect more events and expanded kids’ activities from the indie book store.
🌼 It’s Spring Fair Time! 21/03, 11am-2pm, The Indi Club. Next month, the clocks go forward. Celebrate the end of winter and new beginnings at Project Indi‘s Spring Fair, where attractions will include live entertainment, stalls, and the chance to meet some farm animals. Admission free.
💕 Speed Dating Night. 24/02, from 7.30pm-9.30pm; The Wren. In your 40s or 50s and fed up with the dating apps? Sparks Fly Speed Dating, is hosting an event in Stone where you can chat to singles face-to-face. Tickets £13.40.
💐 Get Crafty with Mum. 11/03, 7pm-8.45pm, the Quarter @ Potbank. This workshop invites mums, daughters, sons, and loved ones to design a floral hat box arrangement together. Each ticket includes all flowers and materials, a keepsake hat box, plus a welcome drink and nibbles. Tickets £42.
