🛍️ 60 Years of Longton Exchange. 06/09, 11am-5pm. Ever since 1 September 1965, Longton Exchange has been serving the residents of Stoke with shops, restaurants, and entertainment. To commemorate this milestone event, there’s a birthday bash this weekend, with stilt-walking from Fiyre, a flower headdress workshop with Parsley & Sage florists, face painting by Kat, balloon modelling, and the chance to meet a magical character with Precious Little Princess Parties. There will also be food and drink stalls, including Staffordshire Mead Company, plus live performances throughout the day, as well as tunes from 6 Towns Radio. Admission free.

Featuring a mix of activities, demonstrations, live music and dance performances, this event is a celebration of our local community’s talent, creativity and spirit. Want to take part? 🎻 Get Classical. 10/10, 7.30pm, Victoria Hall. This iteration of Stoke-on-Trent Classics sees the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra performing Bruch’s unashamedly romantic Violin Concerto No 1. The evening will open with Grieg’s Peer Gynt Suite, and finish with Sibelius’ Symphony No.2. Noa Wildschut will make her debut on violin and Gemma New will be conducting. Tickets from £26.40.
🎃 Pumpkin Fun at Wedgwood. Throughout October, 10am-5pm, World of Wedgwood. Autumn’s almost here, which means it’s almost time to think about picking your pumpkin. Visit Wedgwood any day in October to see their pumpkin display in the World of Wedgwood Courtyard and take some photos. You can also pick your very own pumpkin and paint it at Josiah & Co if you fancy…
🕺30 Years of Riverdance. 28/10-31/10; Tue-Fri at 19:30, Fri at 14:30, Regent Theatre. To celebrate three decades of this fusion of Irish and international dance styles, Riverdance 30: The New Generation rejuvenates the original stage show with new choreography, costumes, lighting, projection, and motion graphics. For the first time ever, the show will welcome ‘The New Generation of performers’, all of whom weren’t even born when the show began. Tickets from £40.72.
🎸 Catch A David Bowie Tribute. 20/09, 7.30pm, Mitchell Arts Centre. MoonAge delivers the classic Spiders from Mars line-up enhanced by keyboards, saxophone and full backing vocals. Get ready for Space Oddity, Let’s Dance, Ziggy Stardust, Life on Mars, Heroes, and more. Tickets from £60.
🧶 Festival of Craft – Celebrating Stoke 100. 18/10, 10am-4pm, Middleport Pottery. Try something artistic and new with a specialist craftsperson, be that gilding or lino printing; watch artists at work and ask them about their craft, including traditional canal rose painting and stained glass; or simply explore the makers market, where you can buy from small makers, craftspeople, and artists from the local area. Admission free (some activities may have a small charge).
