♥️ Shop the Perfect Valentine’s Gift. 07/02, 10am-4pm, Middleport Pottery. Forego the petrol station flowers and supermarket chocolates this year and instead shop for gorgeous handmade gifts at Middleport’s Valentine’s Craft Fair. You’ll not only get in your beau’s good books but also support local traders. A win-win, we’d say. Admission free.
🏃♀️ Join the Dead Slow Running Community! 25/01, 9am; meet outside King’s Hall. If, like me, you love to run but feel too embarrassed to join a club due to your snail pace, then get along to the Dead Slow Running Community for its first-ever meet. With an alternative vibe, runners of all pace are welcome, and once the jog is done, everyone is invited for a coffee (or a pint) at Stoke Wetherspoons. Lace up your trainers and meet by the Inglorious Dead War Memorial; more info here.

❤️ Valentine’s Clay Couples Sessions. 14/02; slots at 10am-11.30am, 12.15pm-1.45pm & 2.30pm-4pm. Learn four-handed throwing and create a pottery piece together this Valentine’s Day at LoveClay; your favourite pot will be fired and glazed. Admission £50 per couple.
👔 Get Inspired with Growth Hub. 27/01, various locations. Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire Growth Hub is collaborating with Peter the Speaker, the entrepreneur who secured £30,000 from Dragon’s Den for his innovative pet products, to provide four workshops for local businesses planning to kickstart growth in 2026. The workshops kick off on 27/01 with To buy or not to buy? What makes a popular product or service? Admission free.

🌳 Winter Tree Walks. 10/02, 17/02, 21/02, 24/02, 03/03, 11am-1pm; Trentham Estate. Discover the world of deciduous trees in winter while learning how to identify them without leaves by recognising bud, bark, branch, and canopy shape with Trentham’s wildlife ranger. Tickets £20 per person (includes gardens admission); £5 per person for Trentham members.

🤭 A Manford All Seasons. 14/03, 7.30pm, Victoria Hall. Described as “effortlessly entertaining“, Jason’s latest observational comedy routine zooms in on the comic’s transition of his children into teenagers, comparing their upbringing to his own childhood. Tickets from £39.89.
🎵 Potteries Folk Club Dates. Various dates, 7:45pm, Fenton Town Hall. Get ready for some folk gigs: the fun begins this Friday (09/01) with KC Jones and Pelican Babies, then there’s Tom McConville (13/02); Dave Boulton’s ‘The Barmy Penguins (13/03), Ben Robertson (10/04), Dan Walsh (08/05) and Vicky Swan & Jonny Dyer (12/03). Tickets £12.
