š· Itās Carnival Time! 26/04, 10am-4pm. Longton Town Centre. This year, Longtonās Parade and Pig Walk will be celebrating the National Year of Reading, with giant puppets and colourful carnival costumes led by drum and brass parade band KiLNE. Want to deliver a performance or workshop, star in the parade, or be an event steward? Thereās more info here. You can also help make costumes on 25/03, 15/04 or 22/04 from 10am-12pm at the Moony Club. Admission free.
š Operation Mincemeat: A New Musical. 27/04-02/05, Regent Theatre. It won the 2024 Olivier Award for Best New Musical, and Operation Mincemeat, is a fast-paced, hilarious true story of the twisted secret mission that won us World War II. So, how did a dead body, a fake love letter, and Ian Fleming come together to wrong-foot Hitler? All will be revealed⦠Tickets from Ā£28.95.
š° Celebrate Easter at Gladstone. Various dates and times. Take the kids to meet some larger-than-life Easter Bunnies, Benji and Honey Bunny, as they search for some Easter eggs and see if they will give you one from their basket (01/04, 11am-3pm, Ā£3.50). You can also make a clay bunny rabbit (01/04, 11am-12.30pm, 1.30-3pm) to take home with you, or join the Gladstone Bunny Hunt (28/03-30/04; Ā£1.50). Thereās also an opp to make clay Easter baskets (08/04, 01/04, 11am-12.30pm, 1.30pm-3pm, Ā£3.50). Recommended age: 7 years and up for clay-based activities. Normal admission charges apply for rest of the museum.
š Meet the Lady Boys of Bangkok. 24/04-03/05, various times, Trentham Shopping Village. The Ladyboys of Bangkok return with their most spectacular show yet, Full Moon, a celebration of life, love, and liberation. Expect a cosmic fusion of choreography, sparkling couture, and jaw-dropping cabaret artistry performed to a cool mix of pop hits and showgirl classics. Tickets from Ā£17.50.
š» A Very Crafty Beer Festival. 11/07, 1pm-6pm, Kingās Hall. Itās a while off yet but early bird tickets are already on sale for the inaugural Stoke Craft Brew Festival, five hours of bottomless craft beer, cider, prosecco, wine, non-alcoholic beer and soft drinks, all soundtracked by a party band and live acoustic sets. Tickets from Ā£45 (early bird); general release Ā£50.
