👻Prepare to be Spooked. 25/10-02/11, admission times at 12pm, 2.30pm & 5.30pm, Trentham Estate. Gandeys Circus is back with the haunted big top for the Halloween Spooktacular, where the ghosts and ghouls of the circus come to life in spine-chilling fashion and thrill acts will leave you hiding under your seat. Want to take the kids? Go ahead, as the show is all about spooky fun with light-hearted performances, comedy, and acrobatics. Tickets from £9.99.
💁♂️ Stories from the Shed. 11/10, 5pm, Fenton Town Hall. Presented by dance theatre group Casson & Friends, Shed Stories celebrates the world of sheds with a performance that immerses audiences in real-life tales of Shedders, combining theatre, dance, and documentary inspired by interviews with shed members of all ages. On the same day, the group is hosting a free two-hour workshop at 2pm on turning conversation into choreography (under 16’s only). Tickets £9.
📸 It’s The Bodyguard! 03/11-08/11, 7.30pm, Regent Theatre. Former Secret Service agent turned bodyguard, Frank Farmer, played by Olivier Award nominee Adam Garcia, is hired to protect superstar Rachel Marron (Sidonie Smith) from an unknown stalker. Romance ensues and they fall in love. Tickets from £15.
🥫Admire Assemblage Art. 31/10, 7.30pm, The Art Studio and Gallery. Go see the works of internationally celebrated assemblage artist Edward Mackenzie, a Californian who settled in Stoke-on-Trent who’s known for transforming everyday objects into distinctive three-dimensional art. Admission free.
🍻 Cheers! Beer & Cider Fest. 15/10-18/10, 6.30pm, King’s Hall. Revellers can sup on more than 140 beers and 50 ciders and perries from a commemorative glass at this event, which has been organised by the Potteries branch of the Campaign for Real Ale. There’s also live entertainment and a gin bar. Tickets £5.
📕 Book Signing This Weekend! 20/09, 2pm-4pm, Vellichor Books. Local author Chris Norris will be on hand to put his signature to his latest book, Fractured Healer, which tells the tale of a leading surgeon haunted by events that happened at a party 20 years ago. Admission free.
🏛️ An Event to Dig. 28/09, 11am-3pm, Hall Lane, Hilderstone. Stoke-on-Trent Museum Archaeological Society is hosting a free open day at a large dig thought to be a multi-phase house dating from about 1600. As they continue to excavate deeper levels, they are hoping to uncover Roman and Medieval finds. There’s free car parking at Hilderstone Garage if you fancy going along.
