🎸 Wombats for Trentham. 29/05, 4pm, Trentham Estate. As part of its Stoke 100 celebrations, Trentham is hosting a weekend of music at the end of May. Rockin’ Liverpudlian trio The Wombats will open proceedings by headlining on the opening night, with support from the Pale Waves and Red Rum Club. The band’s new album, ‘Oh! The Ocean’ is out on Valentine’s Day (pre-order here). Tickets from £34 (on sale to Trentham members only from 23/01, early bird tickets go on sale from 24/01).
🧘 Winter Rest & Reconnect Day Retreat. 26/01, 10am-4pm, Rudyard Lake. Utilising the powerful meditation technique of Yoga Nidra, some mellow yoga with calming breathwork, this retreat is an invitation to discover the beauty of stillness and quiet contemplation during the darker months. All abilities welcome. Tickets £90.
🏺 Gladstone Guided Tours. 01/02 & 15/03, 10.30am-12.30pm, Gladstone Pottery Museum. Want to know more about pottery? Join Stoke Museum Service's ceramics curator for the Conoisseur Guided Tour at Gladstone followed by coffee and cake. Tickets £25, includes free admission to the museum after the tour.
🧁 Kids Make or Bake. 20/02, 11am, Mitchell Arts Centre. Make or Bake is a free, self led, drop-in session at the Spitfire Cafe Bar where children to create around different themes. Next up is Valentines day biscuits and Mothers Day cards. Admission free.
👰♀️ Spring Wedding Fayre. 08/02, 11am-3pm Middleport Pottery. If you’re tying the knot soon, get some ideas for the big day at this show, where you can meet the Middleport weddings team, tour the heritage site and meet suppliers. With a glass of fizz on arrival and canape samplings, it’d be rude not to. Admission free, book now.
❤️ Valentines Throw a Pot with Your Beau. 15/02, 10-11.30am; 12.15-1.45pm; 2.30-4pm, LoveClay. Celebrate Valentine’s Day in true Stokie style by throwing a pot with your other half. Cost includes the glazing and firing of one pot per guest. Beginners welcome. Tickets £50 per couple.
😹 Off Kilter Laughs with John Shuttleworth. 24/02, 7pm, New Vic. The quirky comic is in town with more hilarious stories and songs performed on his trusty Yamaha organ for his ‘Raise the OOF’ tour. Tickets from £25.
🎪 Gandey’s Circus is Back! 14/02-03/03, various times. Trentham Estate. Inspired by Rio’s annual extravaganza, book tickets for Carnival, which includes a heart-racing spectacle featuring a daring space wheel and high-speed motorbikes inside the globe, plus Thor, the circus’s very own strongman. Tickets from £9.99.
