🎸 Celebrating Lemmy. 03/08, statue market place, Burslem. Whether you haven’t seen the statue yet or can’t wait to catch it again, get along to the Lemmy Encore event next month, organised by the Lemmy Forever project, where there will be a scooter and bike rally, art and photo exhibition and, of course, live music plus plenty of opps to take selfies next to Stoke’s most famous rocker. 😆 Dara Ó Briain: Re:Creation. 17/09, 7.30pm, Regent Theatre. The popular Irish comic and TV presenter, famed for shows including Mock the Week, is back after the success of his last tour, So, Where Were We? which was named UK Comedy Tour of the Year 2023. 🧓🧔♂️ Be a Community Builder. 31/07, 10am-4pm, Dudson Centre. Do you want to make Stoke-on-Trent a more connected and inclusive place to live? Then join this day-long session, organised by Protection Approaches and Voluntary Action Stoke on Trent (VAST) to understand how to create more equal communities. There’s the chance to hear directly from participants about the challenges facing communities and what’s already working well. Admission free, get tickets here.
🛍️ A Staffordshire Summer. 03/08, 11am-4pm, the Quarter at Potbank. Support your local artisans! Organised by Shop Small, this cool event will feature market stalls from local creatives, plus food and drink, including the Proven pizza van. There’s also face painting, live music, and crafts at Spode Museum. Free entry if booked in advance, small charge for walk-ins on the door, tickets here.
👦 Get the Kids Hula Hooping. 04/08 & 07/08, 10am-11am, Mitchell Arts Centre. Yep, it’s the first week of the summer holidays and time to fill up the diary with some fun activities for the kids, like this Hula Land workshop where little ‘uns will also explore the music of the circus. 🎹 Ibiza Goes Orchestral. 05/09, 8pm-11pm, Hanley Park. It’s time to party like you’re on the White Isle! Following a sold-out UK tour in 2024, the Ibiza Orchestra Experience will return to Stoke with 26 musicians delivering wave-your-hands-in the-air tunes, plus DJs Professor Green and Phats & Small. Tickets from £19.50.
